Ron Daise talk on Gullah Geechee culture
Ron Daise, an Emmy-nominated performer and cultural interpreter, will discuss Gullah Geechee culture and history on Wednesday, Oct. 21, according to the calendar. He will also discuss the spirituality of Gullah Geechee people as it appears in Raptors in the Ricelands, his first historical novel. The novel is set in a fictional 21st-century community within Georgetown, S.C.
Sculpture exhibition open through Oct. 25
The National Sculpture Society’s annual awards exhibition presents American figurative sculpture, including work by established artists and newer ones, according to the calendar entry.
