Coastal flood advisory covers Grand Strand, Brunswick County until 2 p.m. Oct. 30
The National Weather Service in Wilmington, N.C., expects up to one foot of coastal flooding in low-lying parts of Horry and Georgetown counties on Oct. 30.

The National Weather Service office in Wilmington, N.C., issued a Coastal Flood Advisory at 3:27 a.m. EDT on Oct. 30, 2026. It is in effect from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. EDT the same day.
In coastal Horry and coastal Georgetown counties in South Carolina, the advisory expects up to one foot of inundation above ground level in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways. The advisory says causeways to local beaches, low-lying roads, and areas along the Intracoastal Waterway and adjacent tidal creeks may see minor coastal flooding.
In coastal Pender and coastal Brunswick counties in North Carolina, the advisory expects up to half a foot of inundation above ground level in low-lying areas during the same hours.
The advisory says drivers should not go around barricades or through water of unknown depth, should allow extra time for travel, and should check with local officials for road closures.
