Deer seasons in South Carolina Game Zone 4 (Horry, Georgetown) and Brunswick County, NC

Deer still-gun season on Lewis Ocean Bay and Waccamaw River heritage preserves runs Oct 21, 2026 - Jan 1, 2027. On private land in Game Zone 4, gun hunting runs Sept 1 - Jan 1. In Brunswick County, NC, gun season runs Oct 17, 2026 - Jan 1, 2027.

  • Oct. 21, 2026 – Nov. 1, 2026: Still-gun deer season (Lewis Ocean Bay and Waccamaw River heritage preserves) Highest risk: guns in the woods

Hunting is allowed on heritage preserves and parts of Waccamaw National Wildlife Refuge by permit; not in Myrtle Beach or Huntington Beach state parks.
